The Essentialist crafts capsule collections and bespoke pieces that balance light, geometry, texture and colour.

Our Story

Approaching design with a sense of abundance, quality and longevity, The Essentialist places emphasis on producing timeless, handcrafted pieces that are intentional and eternal. Taking inspiration from the work of renowned female designers in the mid 60s and 70s such as Eileen Gray, Zaha Hadid and Charlotte Periand, as well as the art and design theories of Kenya Hara and John Berger, the motivation behind the studio is crafting functional pieces utilising raw materials that are undefined by time.

Our Philosophy

The Essentialist draws inspiration from the vitality and heightened state of awareness one seeks from explorations beyond the everyday, moments of clarity that lay only outside your comfort zone. Motivated by worldly pursuits – whether that be to hunting quarries and textile markets in Italy or immersing oneself in an unapologetically remote corner of the world – it’s the transformative power of travel that is rooted in everything The Essentialist pursues.
